Review Methodology

WinWave reviews are documentation-based. We assess each crypto casino against what its own published documents say — licence records, terms and conditions, bonus rules and payout policies — and we do not claim first-hand play testing unless it actually took place.

Licence Verification

A casino's licence is checked against the regulator's public register — for example the Curaçao Gaming Control Board or Anjouan registers most crypto operators hold — never taken from the operator's own claim. If we cannot find the operator in the register it names, the review says so.

Terms & Bonus Analysis

We read the full terms and conditions and bonus rules for every listed offer: wagering requirements, win caps, max bet limits, game weighting and expiry. Where an operator's marketing contradicts its own binding terms, the review calls the mismatch out directly in a "Claim vs T&Cs" comparison — the binding document wins.

Payout & Withdrawal Windows

We only publish withdrawal timeframes that the operator itself publishes. Where an operator publishes no timeframe, we say "not published" or "Varies" — we never fill the gap with a plausible-sounding number.

On-Chain Claims

Crypto-specific claims — published bankroll wallets, on-chain reserves, provably-fair seeds — are verified on public block explorers where the operator publishes the addresses. Claims that cannot be independently checked on-chain are reported as operator statements, not facts.

Catalog Data

Game counts, provider lists and coin support come from operator or provider published data. Where an official partner figure is available, it may floor an automatically collected value — official documentation outranks scraping.

Source Hierarchy

When sources disagree, we rank them: operator official documents first, regulator records second, reputable industry reporting third. Material facts require two independent confirmations before they appear in a review.

Re-Verification Cadence

Published facts age, so we re-check them on a schedule: bonus terms roughly weekly; payout rules, game counts and licence status roughly monthly; and a full review refresh whenever an operator's underlying documents change. The same cadence is described in our updates policy.

Scoring

Each casino carries an editorial score on a visible 1–5 scale. The score weighs licensing and trust signals, bonus value against the fairness of its terms, game and provider selection, crypto support, and the operator's published payout policies. We describe these criteria honestly rather than dressing the score up with fake-precision percentage weightings. Rankings are commercially funded and editorially controlled — see our affiliate disclosure for how the two relate.
